The app
Markko collects no data. It has no account, no analytics and no network access. Markko reads your Markdown files on your Mac and never changes them. Comments are stored in a file next to your document (<file>.md.meta), only when you add one.
You buy Markko and Markko Pro through the Mac App Store. Apple processes the purchase. We do not get your name, your e-mail address or your payment data.
This website
This website has no cookies, no forms, no accounts and no third-party scripts. We use only the three services below. All requests go to markko.app; your browser does not connect to another domain.
Hosting: Vercel
Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA, hosts this website. When you open a page, the server receives the usual request data: IP address, date and time, page address, browser and operating system. Vercel uses this data to deliver the website and to keep it secure, and keeps logs for a short time. Vercel is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in a secure and fast website).
Statistics: Umami (self-hosted)
We count page views and clicks on the App Store buttons with Umami. Umami runs on our own server, not at a third party. It sets no cookies and does not store your IP address; it uses the request data only to get the country, the browser, the operating system and the type of device. We cannot identify you, and we do not make a profile of you. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in knowing which pages are useful).
Error reports: Sentry
When a script on this website fails, your browser sends an error report: the error message, the page address, the browser and the operating system. The report goes to markko.app first and from there to Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., 45 Fremont Street, 8th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA). The data is stored in Sentry's EU data region (Germany). Sentry is set not to store IP addresses. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in a website that works).
When you write to support@markko.app, we use your e-mail address and your message only to answer you.

Your rights
